Join Our Team! And help make a difference.
We are very excited to be the charity partner of the year for the brand new Hemel 10k. Join The Hospice of St Francis running team and you will be supporting local people who have a life-limiting illness live their precious lives well. Defined by each person’s need, our free care for people managing, or recovering from, serious illness has many forms – care at the Hospice, at Home, or in our Health and Wellbeing Centre which offers courses, workshops, clinics and therapies. We need to raise over £6 million annually to fund our free care.
As part of our very special Hemel 10K team you will receive:
An exclusive branded t-shirt which include iron on letters (for everyone to cheer your name)
Lots of fundraising support including tips and advice from a member of our fundraising team
Access to our fundraising materials
The Hospice of St Francis cheering squad will be on the course to support you every step of the way!
Invitation to our post-race reception in the festival village.
Your support will make a huge diffeence to people like Michael.
Michael is 29 and living with stage 3 brain cancer. He reached out to the Hospice for occupational support and also attends reflexology and meditation sessions in the Hospice’s Spring Centre. “Without the Hospice’s Spring Centre, I wouldn’t get up in the morning,” Michael said. “The Hospice’s Spring Centre is where Michael can be himself,” his partner Louise explained. “The staff are so lovely and relatable. We can have proper honest conversations with them.”
“Meditation is the time when I’m not thinking about things,” Michael said. “It gives me a purpose and a reason. In the meditation group, everyone opens up and we all benefit from it.” Michael recently launched a dog-walking business The Pawsitive Pack’ (thepawsitivepack.co.uk) after the idea came to him in a meditation session.
“The Hospice came at the perfect time in our lives when we really needed help,” the couple said.
Sign up now to take on the Hemel 10K for The Hospice of St Francis, or if you have secured your place directly through the Race Organisers you can still run for us. You’ll be helping make a difference to the lives of patients, like Michael in your local community.
