So thatโ€™s my 1st #RunMedal of 2019 boxed off! Not gonna lie, a bit disappointed with my time. I think I was a bit naive to aim for a sub 35 min #5k without factoring in three things: 1) Had a dodgy ankle leading up to the race 2) It was cold 3) The course had two hills that were absolutely horrific! Especially for a fat man like me! Iโ€™m not ashamed to say that I had to walk the back end of the 2nd hill I found it to be that steep & difficult. It was without a doubt the hardest #run Iโ€™ve ever had (so far) and hopefully Iโ€™ll improve when I do the @aintreeracecourse #5k next week! Whatโ€™s done is done. Time to get home, have a quick shower & nap before work! #ukrunners #ukrunning #couchto5k #healthylifestyle #fattofit #yoggingwithasoftj #manvsdiabetes #instarunners #ukrunchat @runheaton @runthroughuk #slowrunnersclub #slowrunner #slowrunners #truckerswhorun

Heaton Park @runthroughuk Half Marathon. 1:57:57. ๐Ÿ’ƒ . The plan was to run it slower at full marathon pace but as is often the case the race vibe takes hold and you canโ€™t help but get swept up in it. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ So all in all, pretty happy with that time, taking into account some pretty decent elevation and crazy strong headwinds! Banking that one as a great training race for @manchestermarathon! ๐Ÿ . A massive well done to @zara_hudson84 for completing her first half. A pre race injury meant she couldnโ€™t run the race she wanted and ended up getting carried over the line as she was in that much pain, but amazingly she still finished! Think weโ€™ll aim for a flatter course for the next one Zarf! ๐Ÿ™ˆ

More social miles! ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธโค๏ธ This morning, @ianrunsldn, the princess and I took part in the Heaton Park @runthroughuk 5k. Manchester may seem a long way to go for a 3 mile run, but with friends up that way and not enough chances to see them, it was the perfect excuse! We drove up yesterday evening and woke up fresh for the run, ready to meet with one of the faces of the @great_run series, @squatbot and of course @tophereen. – – – You could be mistaken for thinking this photo was from a gorgeously warm summerโ€™s day, but OH NO… Manchester had other ideas! It was cold and windy, but luckily we didnโ€™t feel it too much when we were running. 3 miles round a beautiful course, rounding my weekend total off at a nice half marathon distance and another medal in the bag for the month. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿผ – – – We wrapped up the day nicely with brunch at @alltheshapesmcr – check out my stories for the most amazing steak eggs benedict before hitting the road back to London! ๐Ÿณ๐Ÿ˜ Thanks Sarah and Chris for joining us today, and @runthroughuk for yet another fantastic race.
